Review
I bought this lens in October 2009 for R720,00 on www.bidorbuy.co.za. This is my first mirror, or more correctly catadioptric, lens and I am very pleased with it. While I certainly wouldn’t recommend this type of lens for regular use, it is very handy to keep in the camera bag for the occasional extra “reach”, due to the light weight and small size. With a minimum focus distance of slightly less than 1.5 metres, it can also double as a nifty macro lens (about 1:2.4). A tripod is recommended, unless setting the ISO to 800 or more on your DSLR.
Update: I’ve traded this lens for a mint condition Asahi Super-Takumar 1:2/35 lens. Both parties feel they got the better deal.
