Brandwag

Introduction

Although it boasts a church and some streets, Brandwag is not really a town, but a collection of small farming units. The fertile soil is irrigated from the Brandwag River and a variety of crops are grown for the local markets. Here and there dairy cows can be seen, sometimes accompanied by a couple of sleek riding horses cropping the lush grass. Recently a project to accommodate members of the so-called previously disadvantaged community was started when a piece of land was granted for communal farming. Whether this is successful only time will tell.
